Carmen has been a state certified teacher for 35 years. She has worked with all age levels and various populations with students with learning challenges, at-risk, honors, advanced and gifted. She has worked with public, private and home schools students. Carmen's strength is her personalization and knowledge of a wide array of curricula and pedagogy. She is able to asses and evaluate student performance quickly and provide learning strategies and materials specific to each child's need. Carmen teaches all subjects K-10, voice, and piano.

Chloe has been an academic specialist for BrainWorks for five years. At the young age of seventeen, she earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Broward College. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an ESOL/Reading Endorsement from Nova Southeastern University. Chloe will be pursing a Masters of Education in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies at the Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. Chloe has worked with students from elementary to college age of diverse abilities from public, private, and home school settings. Chloe teaches reading, writing, SAT/ACT/ PERT/HSPT preparation, voice, and piano.
SEBASTIAN AVELLA

Sebastian Avella has been an academic specialist at BrainWorks for two years. He graduated from the University of Miami with a double major in History and Economics with a minor in Political Science and is currently a 3rd year law student at Northwestern Law School. Sebastian demonstrates strong leadership and teaching abilities. He has coached 7th-12th grade Debate Teams for four years which have reached National level competitions and served as the Co-Director of DREAM PAC which links local minority populations to local politicians. Sebastian also lead the Mock Trial Teams at Northwestern University and placed first. Sebastian has achieved a perfect score in the Math SAT and high scores on AP Exams. Sebastian tutors middle through high school students in history, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and SAT/ACT/PERT math test preparation.
