Our services include educational consultation, assessment, advisement, academic tutoring, music lessons and more. We are a team of highly qualified professionals with many years of experience. Our goal at BrainWorks is to come alongside you to maximize your students’ potential, abilities and opportunities for their future. We strive to meet each student’s individual needs. Our team works with students that are from homeschool, public school and private school settings.

Carmen Behar, B.S. Special Education, Educational Consultant / Academic Specialist K-12 All Subjects, Voice, Piano
Carmen is a 31-year state certified teacher. She earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Miami-Dade College in 1984 in Special Education. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida International University in 1987 in Special Education with a minor in Music. Carmen holds a Florida Teaching Certificate in Special Education K-12 (Specific Learning Disabilities, Intellectually Challenged, Emotionally Challenged), Elementary Education K-6, and ESOL K-12
Carmen worked for Miami-Dade County Public Schools for 24 years in a Varying Exceptionalities Classroom, as a Grant Writer / Project Manager and as a Reading Interventionist. Within that time she worked with At-Risk populations as well as Gifted populations. Additionally, she worked at American Heritage School. Carmen has worked with students of all ages, grades, and settings including public, private and home. Carmen is well versed in curricula and pedagogy with a strength in designing educational plans for student success. Carmen has more than thirty years of experience in assessment and administers the KTEA-R, The Woodcock Johnson Brief, The PSAT, and proctors for SAT and ACT Test administrations.
